Genç, M.

Tüpraş, Korfez, Turkey

Miray Genç is a Process Superintendent responsible for troubleshooting, process, operations, catalyst, additive changes, revamp and design projects of FCC/Prime G units at Tupras refineries. Previously, she worked as a Process Superintendent for hydrocracker, SMR, SRU, visbreaker, coker and treatment units, and also as a chemical engineer at the Turkish Council of Research and Development/Middle East Technical University (METU) collaboration. She holds an MS degree in polymer science and technology, and a BS degree in chemical engineering from the METU.

FCC and HDS feed flexibility and integration with the delayed coker in the Izmit refinery

Tüpraş: Kantar, B. O.  |  Tunca, O.  |  Azizoğlu, Z.  |  Önen, M. F.  |  Genç, M.

Operational flexibility is one of the key parameters that leads to success and sustainability in refinery production.

FCC metal trap additives to process more residue

Tüpraş: Genç, M.  |  Gül, A.  |  Avcilar, S.

Most refiners frequently need metal trapping or bottoms cracking additives for residue operations.

FCC operational changes to boost gasoline octane

Tüpraş: Genç, M.  |  Gül, A.  |  Avcilar, S.  |  Öztürk, B.  |  Önen, M. F.  |  Akkuş, E.

The fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCCU) is one of the main units providing gasoline with high-octane numbers to the refinery gasoline pool.

Feed nozzle effects on yields and operation of FCCUs

Honeywell UOP: Lall, J.

The first-generation, proprietary feed distributorsa had open-pipe bayonets that were located at the base of the wye section/riser.

More residue processing in FCCUs

Tüpraş: Genç, M.  |  Karani, U.  |  Er, I.
Albemarle Corp.: Kandaz, S.

Resid units have more than 2 wt% Conradson carbon residue (Concarbon) in feed and more than 5,000 parts per million (ppm) of nickel (Ni) and vanadium (V) on equilibrium catalysts (Ecat).

Additive solutions to SOx emissions in FCCUs

Tüpraş: Genç, M.  |  Dalgıç, E.  |  Karani, U.  |  Emiroglu, I.  |  Er, I.  |  Gül, A.  |  Avcilar, S.
Johnson Matthey Process Technologies: Ventham, T.

Sulfur oxide additives are typically based on hydrotalcite or magnesium aluminate spinel-type structures. Magnesium alumina is the pickup agent present in the most effective SOx additives on the market; therefore, to optimize SOx reduction, it is critical to maximize the amount of the critical magnesium component in the fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCCU) in an efficient and cost-effective way.
