Water Management: Achieve compliance with automated wastewater treatment for industrial facilities with cooling towers

Contributing Author: Williams, D.

Industrial facilities with cooling towers in the U.S. must meet U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and local wastewater requirements for effluent, including those under the Clean Water Act.

Sponsored Content: Fluidized bed Methanol to Gasoline (MTG)

ExxonMobil’s methanol to gasoline (MTG) process selectively converts methanol to a single fungible liquid fuel and a small LPG stream. The liquid product is conventional gasoline with very low sulfur and low benzene, which can be sold as-is or blended with ethanol, methanol or with petroleum refinery stocks. This minimizes offsite and logistic complexity and investment for synthetic fuel distribution.

History of the HPI: The 1990s: Clean fuels and emissions mitigation, M&A, GTL and the fieldbus wars

Hydrocarbon Processing Staff: Nichols, Lee

Much like several initiatives passed in the 1970s and 1980s, the 1990s were a decade heavily focused on environmental issues, with many new regulations being enacted to not only mitigate industrial and vehicle emissions but also to advance the production of clean fuels globally.

History of the HPI: The 1980s: Oil spike/collapse, liquid crystals, conducting polymers and the rise of AR/VR

Hydrocarbon Processing Staff: Nichols, Lee

Several major impactful events took place in the global oil and gas and petrochemical industries in the 1980s.

Fouling in hydrogen recycle gas compressors

TurboTech Consulting Corp.: Zardynezhad, S.

Hydrogen recycle gas compressors are one of the most significant rotating equipment in oil refineries, petrochemical plants and upgraders.

Xylene-loop scheme for minimized GHG emissions and PX production cost

Axens: Dorsey, A.  |  Ye, F.  |  Cotte, A.  |  Molinier, M.

Molecular management, energy efficiency and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions have become major focuses for petrochemical complexes, including aromatics plants.

Bringing treatments to a boil

Neptune: Fagan, T.  |  Wong, D.  |  Ester, E.

The function of a boiler is simple. It boils water to produce steam, which, in turn, provides energy.
