BASF awards Technip with umbrella contract for chemical project work
Germany-based chemical major BASF awarded Technip with an umbrella contract for engineering services on its chemical and petrochemical projects. Both companies are contemplating a long-term partnership, they said, which would provide BASF access to the resources of Technip for its capital investments notably in Europe, but also in other regions.

ExxonMobil said on Tuesday that drilling and construction have started on an enhanced oil recovery project at the Means field in Andrews County, Texas. Fluor reports record backlog of orders, sees new Q1 projects nearly double from 2010
Fluor reported a record backlog of orders on Friday, saying that new project awards in the company’s first quarter nearly doubled year-earlier levels. The US-based contractor noted the growth in orders as part of its first-quarter earnings, which saw profit climb 2.3% to $140mn amid strength in the company’s industrial and infrastructure business.
