Aramco, Total ship first refined product cargo from new Jubail complex
SATORP, a joint venture of Saudi Aramco and Total, has begun shipping refined products from the Jubail complex in Saudi Arabia. The full conversion of the Jubail complex is designed to refine 400,000 bpd of oil to produce high grade automotive fuel. It is scheduled to be completed by late 2013.
INEOS workers vote to strike at Grangemouth refinery in Scotland
More than 81% of workers at INEOS' Grangemouth refinery in Scotland have voted to strike, according to a Friday news release from local trade union group Unite. The Grangemouth refinery can process 210,000 bpd of crude, with roughly 30% of its output as distillates, according to Bloomberg.
Brazil to raise gasoline, diesel prices by 5%
Petrobras sells gasoline at about a 30% discount to international benchmark prices, with the government reluctant to authorize higher prices for fear of stoking inflation.
