Algenol begins construction on Florida bio-refinery

Jacobs Engineering has received a contract from Arkema to provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) services for two projects at its complex in Clear Lake, Texas. The first is for an acrylic acid expansion and the second a methyl acrylate project, company officials said.
KBR, SK Group license advanced catalytic olefins technology to China plant
KBR was awarded a license and process design package contract for a new olefins production unit using its advanced catalytic olefins (ACO) technology. This award represents the first license using this innovative technology, the company said, which catalytically cracks naphtha and other straight run feeds to produce olefins yields which surpass those available from traditional steam cracking technology.
Foster Wheeler inks deal in India to design, supply CFB steam generators
Global construction major Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract by Essar Projects, a United Arab Emirates (UAE) company, to design and supply four circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generators for Essar Power Salaya in India - the owner and developer of the project. Foster Wheeler has received a full notice to proceed on this contract, it said.
Foster Wheeler wins top British safety award
Global engineering and construction major Foster Wheeler has won the Five Star Health and Safety Management System Audit Award from the British Safety Council for the performance of the company’s UK-headquartered operation in Reading. The award follows a Five Star audit, in which the British Safety Council reviewed the health and safety performance of FWEL’s Reading home office operation, the company said.

ExxonMobil Chemical has selected Technip for engineering and management services on its grassroots lubricant base stock facility to be built at ExxonMobil’s integrated refinery and chemical plant complex in Baytown, Texas.
Jacobs wins Canadian oil sands engineering deals
Jacobs Engineering Group has received new contracts in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2011 from seven clients in the Alberta oil sands region of Canada to support steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) and bitumen upgrading expansion projects. Officials estimate the combined total construction value of the awarded projects at more than $1.4 billion, the company said.
