Technip wins design deal for Qatargas refinery expansion
Technip has won the design contract for a capacity-doubling expansion of Qatargas’ Laffan condensate refinery, officials said on Friday. France-based Technip will design facilities to raise output to 292,000 bpd, up from 146,000 bpd. The value of the front-end engineering and design deal was not disclosed.
Fluor wins deal from Chevron to expand oil pipeline in Kazakhstan, Russia
Fluor has been awarded a contract by Chevron Neftegaz - one of three project managers engaged by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium - for its recently-announced expansion project. Fluor will provide project services for the marine terminal and supervisory control and data system (SCADA) portions of the Caspian expansion project.

Invensys Operations Management, a global provider of technology systems, software solutions and consulting services to the manufacturing and infrastructure operations industries, said it signed a multi-million dollar contract to implement an integrated refinery information system (IRIS) for Saudi Aramco Total Refining & Petrochemical Co. (SATORP).

Pacific Drilling S.A. announced that its ultra-deepwater drillship the Pacific Bora commenced operations at the Agbami Field in Nigeria on August 10. The rig is contracted for three years to a wholly-owned Chevron subsidiary.

Honeywell’s UOP announced Tuesday that Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries (Orpic) has selected UOP/Foster Wheeler technology to help process heavy oil and expand fuel and petrochemicals production at a refinery in Sohar, Oman.
LUKOIL awards Baker Hughes engineering contract for Iraq drilling project
LUKOIL has awarded Baker Hughes a two-year contract to provide full drilling and completion services for 23 wells in the West Qurna field in southeast Iraq, 31 miles west of Basra. Under the terms of the contract, Baker Hughes will provide engineering and project management for the turnkey drilling and completions scope of the project.
Tethys Petroleum begins Kazakhstan oil production
Tethys Petroleum has opened its Doris oil production facilities in Kazakhstan, company officials said on Monday. Oil is currently being trucked from this location at a rate of approximately 1,500 bpd, which will increase to 2,000-2,500 bpd with the new production facilities, the company said.
Fluor wins engineering deal for Dow, Saudi Aramco $20bn chemical complex
Fluor has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) contract for all of the utilities and offsites at the al-Jubail chemical complex in Saudi Arabia. The complex is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical.
