Qatar, the world's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas, is drawing up a contingency plan to close down its vast LNG facilities in an emergency, if Iran carries out recent threats to close the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Cheniere Energy Partners has entered into an LNG sale and purchase agreement with Korea Gas Corp.(Kogas) under which Kogas has agreed to purchase 3.5 million tpy of LNG upon the completion of train three operations. The agreement has a term of 20 years and an extension option of up to 10 years.

Air Liquide has purchased an air separation unit (ASU) from Georgia Gulf in Plaquemine, La. The ASU will join an existing system of 13 Air Liquide air separation units and utility production facilities serving more than 30 customers along the Mississippi River via Air Liquide’s pipeline network, the company said.
