Lukoil licenses UOP technology for petrochemicals, gasoline production in Russia

Lukoil will license an integrated suite of UOP technologies to produce high-quality gasoline blending components, propylene and other petrochemicals at its facility in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. Russia is the third largest energy consumer in the world, and demand is growing due to higher economic activity.

Technip wins engineering deal on Saudi elastomers project of SABIC, ExxonMobil

The project is part of the elastomers program undertaken by the joint venture to set up a world-scale specialty elastomers facility to serve local markets, the Middle East and Asia. The new facility will produce 110,000 tpy of rubber using ExxonMobil-licensed technology.

Foster Wheeler will execute the project in consortium with Toyo Engineering Corp. from Japan and Y & V Ingeniería y Construcción from Venezuela. The consortium previously completed the front-end engineering design for the project. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

CB&I wins technology deal for Petronas Malaysia petrochemical units

CB&I was awarded a contract by Petronas for licensing and engineering design work on five petrochemicals units in Johor, Malaysia. Lummus Technology said it will provide technology for a steam cracker complex comprising ethylene, butadiene, benzene, isobutylene and MTBE units.

Shell picks Jacobs for engineering on Canada mine

The Jackpine Mine is one of two mines at Shell's Albian Sands site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. Officials did not disclose the contract value. Jacobs will deliver a portfolio of projects involving conceptual engineering of new technologies to consolidate tailings and meet environmental requirements.

IHI buys Kvaerner US downstream engineering unit

The EPC Center Houston is an engineering and construction business focused on the delivery of LNG terminals and oil and gas processing facilities in North America. Since 2004, the center and Japan's IHI have cooperated as joint venture partners on several projects, thus enabling a smooth transition.
