BP awards engineering deal for Rotterdam refinery FCC shutdown to Jacobs
BP has chosen Jacobs to provide engineering and procurement services, as well as engineering assistance during construction, commissioning and startup, for a major shutdown of the fluid catalytic cracker at its Rotterdam refinery in The Netherlands. The Rotterdam facility has 400,000 bpd of capacity.
Oryx starts up lube oil blending plant in West Africa
Oryx Oil & Gas has started up a new lube oil blending plant (LOBP) in Togo, West Africa, the contractor involved with the project said this week. The plant has an output capacity of 18,000 tpy and is expected to serve all segments and markets in West Africa, especially the minerals and mining industry.
Technip lands flexible pipe supply deal for Ichthys LNG project in Australia
Technip was awarded a lump sum contract to supply flexible pipe for the Ichthys liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Australia. The Ichthys LNG project is expected to produce 8.4 million tpy of LNG and 1.6 million tpy of liquefied petroleum gas, along with approximately 100,000 bpd of condensate at peak.
Fluor named North America engineering partner for BASF chemical projects
BASF has chosen Fluor as its engineering partner for chemicals capital projects across North America. The deal includes include conceptual and front-end engineering and design (FEED), detailed engineering, procurement, project management and construction management services.
Jacobs wins engineering work on Afipsky refinery expansion in Russia
Jacobs was awarded a contract from Afipsky Refinery, located in the Krasnodarskij region of Russia, to develop a basic engineering package for an amine regenerator unit, a sour water stripper and an expected 55 tpd sulfur recovery unit (SRU). Officials did not disclose the contract value.
Williams picks CB&I for engineering on Louisiana petrochemical expansion
CB&I was awarded a $300 million contract by Williams for a petrochemicals expansion project in Geismar, Louisiana. Plant capacity is expected to be increased from 1.35 to 1.95 billion lb/year. Ethylene, mainly produced via steam cracking, is the world’s largest volume hydrocarbon.
Fluor to design Petronas LNG terminal in Malaysia
Fluor was awarded a contract by Petronas to provide front-end engineering and design (FEED) services for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification terminal in Malaysia. Fluor booked the undisclosed contract value in the first quarter of 2012. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Total taps Foster Wheeler for hydrodesulfurization revamp at Belgium refinery
Foster Wheeler has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) services contract by Total for the revamp of a hydrodesulfurization unit at Total’s refinery in Antwerp, Belgium. The value will be included in the company’s first-quarter 2012 bookings.
Foster Wheeler inks global services pact with Dow
Foster Wheeler has signed a strategic umbrella agreement with Dow Chemical for the provision of project management, consulting, engineering, procurement, construction management, and construction services. The deal offers support by Foster Wheeler to selected Dow global capital projects, the companies said.
CB&I wins $50mn deal for Canadian oil sands work
CB&I said Monday that has been awarded a contract, valued in excess of $50 million, for an oil sands project in Canada. The scope of work primarily includes the assembly of coke drums and a fractionator tower, according to the company. Details on the oil sands producer were not disclosed.
