Armstrong International to double heat pump production capacity in Herstal, Belgium
Armstrong International is updating its plans for the expansion of its manufacturing site in Herstal, Belgium. Initially planned for an annual production of 50 MW of industrial high-temperature heat pumps, the project is being adapted to double its capacity to 100 MW per year by 2027.
Digital Exclusive: Heat exchanger body flange: The gasket is not always tight enough
Shell-and-tube heat exchangers (STHEs) are used abundantly throughout the chemical, oil and gas, and fertilizer industries. Their service is essential to numerous processes—it can be said that without them, it is impossible to successfully build and operate a plant. Body flanges, also referred to as girth flanges, are critical elements of STHEs, and are incorporated to help with maintenance, cleaning and inspection of STHEs during service.
Case study: Why did the tube sheet of the waste heat boiler deform?
This article analyzes the causes of a 19-mm protrusion of the tube sheet and the tube joint leaks that occurred within a sulfur recovery unit (SRU) waste heat boiler (WHB).
