Cheniere inks sales pact with Korea Gas to export Sabine Pass LNG
Cheniere Energy Partners has entered into an LNG sale and purchase agreement with Korea Gas Corp.(Kogas) under which Kogas has agreed to purchase 3.5 million tpy of LNG upon the completion of train three operations. The agreement has a term of 20 years and an extension option of up to 10 years.
Shell CEO says current US gas prices too low for shale investment
Investment in shale gas won't be sustained if US natural gas benchmarks stay at their currently depressed levels, Shell chief executive Peter Voser said. US natural gas prices have fallen to their lowest point in a decade as new technologies allow producers to access vast untapped gasfields in Pennsylvania and Texas.
Conoco to shut more natural gas output in 2012
ConocoPhillips plans to shut in only a small portion of its natural-gas production in Canada and the lower 48 states due to lower commodity prices as the bulk of its production is tied to oil liquids output and is still profitable. Sempra wins US approval to export Louisiana LNG
The US Department of Energy said Friday it has authorized Cameron LNG to export liquefied natural gas, opening the door wider for US natural gas companies to send their bounty overseas. Cameron also has to win government approval to build export facilities at the Cameron Parish site.

BP unveils global energy outlook through 2030, boosts demand estimate

India is seeking to tap into its shale gas resources to meet rising gas demand from power plants and factories.
Enterprise extends shipper commitment period for Appalachia-Texas ethane pipeline
Enterprise Products is extending its open commitment period by two weeks to accommodate additional shipper demand on the partnership’s Appalachia-to-Texas pipeline (ATEX Express). The open commitment period began Wednesday morning and will close on the afternoon of Monday, January 23.
Dow Chemical picks UOP for propylene production technology at Texas project
Honeywell’s UOP has been selected by Dow Chemical to provide technology to produce propylene at a Dow production site in Texas, the companies said on Thursday. The facility, scheduled to start up in 2015, will produce 750,000 metric tpy of polymer-grade propylene.
