ExxonMobil, University of Wisconsin-Madison to advance research into fuel from biomass

IRVING, Texas & MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Madison and ExxonMobil have announced a 2-yr renewal of an agreement to research the fundamental chemistry of converting biomass into transportation fuels. The research is part of a broad effort to identify scalable and commercially viable solutions to help meet increasing global energy demand with a renewable resource.

Velocys commercial-scale biorefinery plans move forward

Velocys plc announced that the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has invited Velocys to submit a Phase II Application to obtain a loan guarantee for a commercial-scale biorefinery.
