Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) is an important, versatile thermoplastic polyester that has exceptional resistance to both heat and chemicals.

Vijay Shirpurkar is a Senior Process Engineer at Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. He has 19 years of experience in technical services, as well as in refinery and petrochemical plant operations. He has worked on the delayed coker unit at the world’s largest grassroots refinery (Reliance Industries Ltd. in Jamnagar, India) as Manager of the LPG and fuel gas separation units. He has worked as Process Lead in the PBT unit from basic stage to startup. He has also published papers in international magazines. He is a graduate in chemical engineering from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University in Lonere Maharashtra, India.
