Southwest Airlines Co. announced the acquisition of SAFFiRE Renewables, LLC as part of the investment portfolio of its wholly owned subsidiary Southwest Airlines Renewable Ventures, LLC which is dedicated to creating more opportunities for Southwest to obtain scalable SAF.
Japan's JERA starts ammonia co-firing trial at coal power station
JERA said it has begun a demonstration of co-firing 20% of ammonia with coal at its Hekinan thermal power station in central Japan, in what it said is the world's first trial using a large amount of the gas at a major commercial plant.
