Technip wins hydrogen reformer work for refinery upgrade in Venezuela
The contract covers the complete engineering, fabrication, modularization and procurement. This project will utilize Technip's reformers to produce high-purity hydrogen and export steam, and the latest nitrogen oxide reduction technology to ensure minimum emissions.
Sasol, Total pick Fluor as contractor in South Africa clean fuels project
Natref, the only inland crude refinery in South Africa, is a joint venture between Sasol and Total. The undisclosed contract value will be booked in Fluor’s second quarter of 2013, the company said. This award follows the successful completion of a feasibility study and conceptual engineering by Fluor.
Polimeri Europa awards engineering deal to Jacobs for UK rubber expansion
Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is providing EPCM services in collaboration with Polimeri Europa UK to support the installation of a new finishing line and the associated works. The expansion is expected to significantly increase Polimeri Europa UK’s rubber production capacity at Grangemouth.
Mitsui wins FEED work for Sasol Louisiana PE plant
The project is part of Sasol’s planned world-scale ethane cracker and derivatives complex to be built in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The plant's low-density polyethylene (LDPE) capacity will be 420,000 tpy.
Sasol awards engineering work to KBR for synfuels complex in South Africa
The EPCm services to be provided by KBR entail all the management services required in order to restore the integrity of the gaseous oxygen compressor. Financial details were not disclosed by the firms.
Foster Wheeler plans China substitute natural gas unit with Wison, Clariant
The pilot plant will demonstrate Foster Wheeler’s VESTA substitute natural gas (SNG) technology. Under the agreement, Wison Engineering will provide engineering and construction services, Foster Wheeler will license technology, and Clariant will supply the proprietary developed catalyst.
Technip wins process design work on new Finland biomass-to-liquid plant
Technip will develop the process design package of the hydrogen production unit of the plant, based on its steam reformer proprietary technology, and will prepare the FEED for the hydrogen production, Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and refining units. Work is scheduled to be completed in early 2014.
Iraq awards project management work to Technip for Karbala refinery
The scope of Technip's work will cover two phases. Phase 1 involves the issue of enquiries for the EPC contract, bids clarification, evaluation and finalizing contracts with the EPC contractors. Meanwhile, phase 2 deals with overall management of the EPC contract execution.
Air Liquide to provide technology for new Chinese polyamide 6 plants
The contracts include the design of the plants, the delivery of proprietary equipment and the technical services for a total capacity of 360,000 tpy of PA6. The plants will feature the Zimmer technologies "full recovery" concept as well as the newest generation of proprietary reactors.
