As the process industries face the challenge of digitally transforming their plants and assets, they need tools and technology to support this change.
Integrating the use of process simulation, operator training simulator (OTS) and digital twin technology is an essential first step on this journey. To achieve this, AspenTech and Emerson have integrated the leading technologies and capabilities of both organizations into a new offering for the managers of process plants.
In this webinar we will cover:
• Use cases for digital twin technology
• The joint technology investment of AspenTech and Emerson to support our customers
• Case studies outlining the business value of using this technology
Learn from Emerson and AspenTech experts how you can leverage an integrated technology solution to bring plants online faster and manage unexpected shutdowns with confidence.

The oil and gas industry is witnessing an important convergence in the process and operational worlds. This session looks at how companies can integrate asset performance management (APM) solutions together with process simulation models to allow for continuous interrogation of process data against the process model, and the ability to predict and quantify operational decisions in near real-time.

Oil & Gas companies wishing to modernize downstream operations must update the way they view the value of their refinery, petrochemical or LNG/gas plant technology long-term investments. Stakeholders have traditionally only considered outlay of capital for installation and the ongoing cost of maintenance. An overlooked ratio, Return on Capital Employed (ROCE), provides a more comprehensive and accurate method for calculating efficiency and profitability of a company's capital investments. This session illustrates how ROCE applies itself to downstream investments in process automation.

Digitalization of process operations is currently a much-discussed topic throughout the process industries. Much of the recent focus is on the application of machine learning techniques on Big Data to derive statistical models that are then used in applications such as predictive equipment maintenance.
An alternative – but not necessarily competing – approach is to apply the deep process knowledge embedded in high-fidelity predictive process models online within a digital applications framework. Using such detailed models in real-time process operations is a significant step forward from current online applications that are mostly based on simplified models of plants – often derived directly from expensive plant tests – and can lead to substantial improvements in terms of both enhanced performance and reduced cost of deployment.
Overall, the creation of digital process twins that combine the richness of the plant data with accurate model predictions makes possible a new generation of monitoring, forecasting and optimization applications. This webcast describes the approach and illustrates it with practical applications for olefins production, petrochemicals process monitoring and utility system optimization.

Market volatility is an ongoing issue for olefin producers, as local and global events drive rapid changes. Unprecedented capacity expansions combine with feedstock and logistics constraints to create significant problems for operating companies. This webinar will discuss key business challenges and solutions in the face of this volatility. With new world-scale crackers coming online, all cracker operators need to establish optimal operating envelopes to drive greater efficiencies in an ever-evolving competitive environment.
