The state of the aromatics industry in Asia-Pacific was featured in a recent outlook by Bert de Guzman of DeWitt & Co. Assessing how long imports will prevail, he examined the region country-by-country. The following are key highlights from his presentation. Economic growth of India and China drive demand for products and feedstocks. The gross domestic product (GDP) for Asia-Pacific (excluding Japan) averaged 7.3% in 2005 and is expected to decline to 6.8 % and 6.3%, respectively, in 2006 and 2007.
