Indonesia allots 13.41 MM kiloliters of biodiesel for mandatory blending in 2024
(Reuters) - Indonesia has allotted 13.41 million kiloliters of biodiesel for mandatory blending in 2024, slightly more than this year's allocation, the chairman of biodiesel producers' association said on Thursday.
The Southeast Asian country allocated 13.15 million kiloliters of biodiesel for this year after in February raising its mandatory palm oil blend for the fuel from 30% to 35%, a program better known as B35.
The world's biggest palm oil producer has pushed a wide use of the palm oil-based fuel to reduce crude oil imports and shift to lower emission fuel.
Indonesia's consumption of biodiesel for the first nine months this year was about 8.5 million kiloliters, the energy ministry said.
Total consumption was seen at around 11.5 million kiloliters this year.
