(Reuters) Talks to build an oil refinery in Uganda with a consortium led by Korea's SK Engineering have collapsed, but the East African nation still hopes to find a lead investor for the project by year end, an industry conference heard on Tuesday.
"The talks had to be terminated in July," Ernest Rubondo, executive director of the Petroleum Authority of Uganda, told an Africa oil conference. "We are in discussions with several potential lead investors for this refinery ... and we should have identified the lead investor by the end of the year."
