SAO PAULO, March 18 (Reuters) -- Brazil's hydrous ethanol sales, used by the country's flex-fuel car fleet, fell 6.8% in the year through February compared to the same period a year earlier as near-record prices drove off consumers, Brazil's petroleum and fuels regulator ANP said on Friday.
Gasoline sales also fell, but at a slower rate, dropping 2.6% versus the volume seen by February 2015.
Diesel sales fell 6.6% in the two first months of the year versus similar period in 2015, reflecting reduced economic activity as Brazil faces its worst recession in decades.
