Permasense launches first US office for corrosion monitoring services
Permasense, a leading provider of remote monitoring solutions to the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry, has opened its first international office in Houston, Texas.
The North America market currently accounts for 40% of Permasenses revenue. Louisiana and Texas are home to 35% of the countrys refineries, representing significant further opportunity for Permasenses corrosion and erosion monitoring solutions.
Peter Collins, CEO at Permasense, said, The Americas represents an exciting prospect for us to significantly expand as part of our ongoing global growth strategy. As the energy capital of the US, Houston makes perfect sense.
Permasenses non-intrusive corrosion and erosion-monitoring system uses permanently installed sensors that continually measure the wall thickness of fixed equipment and quickly detect metal loss caused by corrosion or erosion.
Users can monitor and analyze how the metalwork is coping with the demands placed upon it due to changes in process conditions, enabling the optimization of corrosion or erosion mitigation strategies in even the most inhospitable and inaccessible environments, the company said.
