A fire that broke out Monday at Marathon Petroleum's Galveston Bay refinery was quickly extinguished, the company said Tuesday.
The fire in the 451,000 bpd refinery's hydrotreater unit burned for about a half-hour on Monday. No injuries were reported.
In a statement, a spokesman for Marathon declined to comment on the refinery's operations.
Marathon shares closed Monday at $62.99 and were at $62.80 in premarket trade Tuesday. The stock is down around 11% over the last three months.

(Editor's note: Marathon formally acquired the refinery from BP on February 1. Known previously as the BP Texas City refinery, it has a long history of environmental violations and accidents.)
