Automation: Significant improvement of soft sensor estimation by automation in bias correction

Susanta Sadhukhan graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from Jadavpur University in lndia. His areas of expertise include plant operations, troubleshooting, personnel management and advanced process control. He has been involved in APC implementation projects with continuous catalytic regeneration reformate (CCR) units, crude distillation units, diesel hydrodesulfurization (DHDS) units and MTBE units, among others. Mr. Sadhukhan is now involved in APC revamp activities for hydrogen generation units and a DHDS unit, as well as APC maintenance activities for other plants in the refinery.
V. Suresh holds a graduate degree in chemical engineering and has worked for 33 yr within Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd.’s Mumbai Refinery. His work has spanned various sectors, including technical services, optimization and operations, and control and optimization of refinery process units. That focus includes AspenTech’s DMC3 and the RMPCT of Honeywell Advanced Solutions. Mr. Suresh is jointly responsible for the implementation of APC in all of the refinery’s process units.
