The total represents a 25% increase in new project announcements year-over-year. Most of these projects were in the Asia-Pacific region, followed by the U.S. and Middle East. A breakdown of new project announcements by region include:
Africa—6% (24 projects)
Asia-Pacific—46% (189 projects)
Canada—3% (14 projects)
Western Europe—4% (18 projects)
Eastern Europe, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)—6% (23 projects)
Latin America—3% (12 projects)
Middle East—12% (48 projects)
U.S.—20% (80 projects).
