Raw wellhead natural gas is a complex mixture of methane (CH4), hydrocarbon condensates, natural gas liquids (NGL), water, contaminants, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen, mercury and other compounds.
The Authors
Gary Engelhart is the Product Line Marketing Manager for SpectraSensors. He is responsible for TDLAS analyzer applications in the hydrocarbon processing industries, including natural gas processing, LNG, refining and petrochemicals. He has 25 yr of experience in analytical instrumentation and chemical process equipment.
Brian Spencer is a Staff Engineer at Enterprise Products responsible for Colorado and Wyoming assets, including three cryogenic gas processing plants. He has 26 yr of experience in the petrochemical industry.
David Beitel is a Sales Engineer for Davis & Davis, and has responsibility for providing customer solutions for all aspects of custody transfer measurement and analytic instrumentation. He has worked for 30 yr with Davis & Davis, and has 38 yr of experience in the oil and gas industry.
