US winter fuels, LNG outlook
A recent forecast from the US Department of Energy (DOE) projects that natural gas prices this winter will be lower than those of last winter. The DOE's Energy Information Administration's outlook (www.eia.doe.gov) predicts that residential natural gas prices will average $12.23/thousand cubic feet (Mcf) compared to $14.64/Mcf last year. For comparison, between October 2001 and March 2002, the average residential price was $7.54/Mcf.
