GE Energy has received a contract worth ?51 million from Norsk Hydro Production ASA to supply five compression trains for the Ormen Lange gas processing plant in Nyhamna, Norway. Norsk Hydro, which is the operator for the development phase, is part of the license group for Ormen Lange, the largest gas field under development on the Norwegian continental shelf. The field is located 100 km off the northwestern coast of Norway, at water depths of 800 ? 1,100 m. GE Energy will provide three export trains, each consisting of two centrifugal compressors driven by 48-MW variable speed electric motors, and two recompression trains, each consisting of two centrifugal compressors driven by 7.3-M
