A database from Industrial Information Resources, Inc. (IIR) has identified over 44 major maintenance turnarounds representing over $250 million in expenditures. These are scheduled to take place at U.S. plants over the next three years. Five major ethylene unit turnarounds are planned for first-quarter 2002, with 19 scheduled turnarounds planned for the entire year. The units with planned turnarounds for first-quarter 2002 represent approximately seven billion pounds per year of ethylene capacity.
