Soumitro Nagpal is a Technical Director for the Process Economics Program (PEP) at IHS Markit. He has 26 yr of experience in process technology evaluation and development, as well as process design and engineering for the petroleum refining, gas processing, chemicals, mining and metals industries. He previously worked at Fluor, where he was a global subject matter expert (SME) for process dynamic simulation; and at Engineers India, where he developed gas treating unit design capability using selective amines. He has published more than 30 articles in reputed journals and conferences. Dr. Soumitro is a chemical engineering graduate of BITS, Pilani (BEng) and received his PhD from the University of Utah.
