Biofrigas inks agreement to deliver infrastructure for the liquefaction of upgraded biogas
Biofrigas has signed a letter of intent with a biogas producer in Finland regarding the delivery of infrastructure for the liquefaction of upgraded biogas. The potential initial order value is $1.28 MM, with the possibility of expansion to a total of $5.3 MM. The plant will be used for liquefaction of upgraded biogas at the customer's biogas plant in central Finland and refers to Biofriga's larger liquefaction plants, CryoSep P, with a capacity of up to 10 GWh per unit and year.
The customer, an established biogas producer that produces about 45 GWh, now wants to start the work of converting its production to liquefied biogas to complement its existing products. The customer currently uses residual streams from the agricultural and food industries and produces upgraded gas that is sold to the automotive sector and various industrial applications.
Initially, it is planned to start liquefaction of a subset of the customer's total volume in order to gradually convert additional quantities as demand increases, which could mean a total value of $5.3 MM for Biofrigas as supplemented with additional liquefaction units.
