Malaysia Airlines flies its first passenger flight with Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel supplied by PETRONAS
In conjunction with World Environment Day, Malaysia Airlines operated its first passenger flight using Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel on flight MH603 from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, which was refueled at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The historic flight was operated with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft fueled by a blend of conventional jet fuel and Neste’s SAF, which is produced from 100% renewable waste and residue raw materials, such as animal fat waste that was used for the SAF on this flight.
Exxon says it has safely contained fire at Fawley refinery unit
ExxonMobil Corp has safely contained a fire at one of the units at its 270,000 bpd Fawley oil refinery in Britain, the oil major said in a statement on Tuesday.
"We may continue to use our flare in order to safely manage ongoing operations," Exxon said, without specifying the unit involved.
GE Digital partners with Visionaize to provide 3D visualization capabilities to APM

While industrial companies can choose to review data and information in any number of formats including plant blueprints, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), and Isometrics through various means of CAD/CAM software solutions, the implementation of V-Suite Starter is designed to allow users to view real-time and historical asset data on the 3D model to deliver timely and valuable insights at the point of action.
Claroty and Schneider Electric collaborate to enhance industrial cybersecurity
Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has announced its collaboration with Claroty, the security company for cyber-physical systems across industrial, healthcare, and commercial environments.
Announced at ARC Forum Orlando (June 6-9, 2022), the agreement builds on the existing relationship between the two leading companies and leadership in their respective industries. Schneider Electric will now integrate The Claroty Platform into their offering, enabling them to better address new cybersecurity concerns, including protection, safety and insurance for industrial customers.
Sasol and Uzbekistan GTL continue to cooperate for next generation catalysts
Sasol and Uzbekistan GTL’s ongoing cooperation took a significant step forward with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the supply of Low Temperature Fischer Tropsch (LTFT) catalysts. The signing took place during Baku Energy Week, one of most prestigious events in the energy sector in the Caspian region, held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
The MoU builds on the initial 2018 catalyst supply agreement between Sasol and Uzbekistan GTL and includes technical support by Sasol, as well as the supply of a next generation catalyst.
Clariant’s global climate campaign cuts more than 4 MMt CO2 equivalents annually
Clariant announced that it has been awarded by the American Chemistry Council (ACC) with the prestigious Sustainability Leadership Award 2022 in the category “Environmental Protection”.
The accolade is in recognition of Clariant’s global climate initiative, in which the company offered a free load of its nitrous oxide (N2O) removal catalyst EnviCat N2O-S to ten nitric acid producers who did not have such an abatement technology in place yet.
UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure selects Siemens tech to power nation’s electric vehicle charging corridor
The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure selected Siemens technology for a nationwide network of ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) chargers which will help reduce carbon emissions, boost adoption of EVs by addressing so-called range anxiety, and lay the groundwork for a more connected and sustainable transportation system.
Ten Siemens Sicharge D 160 kW ultra-fast chargers will be installed on the highways in Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. To meet the changing market demands, the chargers have a scalable power up to 300 kW and can be expanded with additional external dispensers for up to two additional charging cables. All are cloud-connected devices which allows operators to monitor and manage the chargers remotely.
Saudi cuts crude supply to some Chinese refiners in July, sources say
(Reuters) - Saudi Aramco has notified at least five North Asian refiners, mostly Chinese, that it will be supplying less than contracted volumes of crude oil in July, several sources with knowledge of the matter said on Thursday.
The cuts to Chinese refiners come as more cheap Russian oil heads to the world's top oil importer, which has refused to condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Chinese oil demand has also been depressed by COVID-19 restrictions in the past two months.
Japan’s first SAF helicopter flight with H215
Airbus Helicopters in Japan and Japan’s leading helicopter operator Nakanihon Air (NNK) have jointly performed the country’s first ever helicopter flight powered with SAF. NNK’s H215 helicopter conducted a 30-minute flight at Nagoya Airport in Aichi Prefecture today.
The aircraft was fueled with 600 litres of “SUSTEO 10”, a renewable jet fuel produced by Japan’s first biofuel manufacturer Euglena, which has met the specifications of both international and Japanese standards of diesel fuels ASTM D1655 and JIS K 2204 respectively. SUSTEO contains 10% of SAF mixed with Jet A-1.
