Sempra taps Foster Wheeler for engineering work on Cameron LNG export site
Foster Wheeler has been awarded an owner’s engineer contract for a new LNG liquefaction project to be located in Hackberry, Louisiana, by Cameron LNG, an affiliate of Sempra Energy.
The project is expected to export up to 12 million tpy of LNG.
The contract value for this project was not disclosed. An initial booking was included in Foster Wheeler’s fourth-quarter 2011 bookings, with the main releases of work expected to follow in 2012.
The scope of work includes technical assistance for project development, the execution of front-end engineering to support permit applications to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, development of technical specifications and invitation to bid packages for engineering, procurement and construction activities, and technical reviews, according to the company.
The work will also include integration with existing Cameron LNG facilities and may include additional scopes of work as the project develops.
