Steve Gim is the Regional Technical Service Manager for BASF. He has more than 25 yr of experience in the refining industry, with roles encompassing catalyst selection, FCC process design and startups, modeling and refinery planning. Prior to joining BASF, he was the Principal Technologist for Technip Stone & Webster and a trading analyst for Enron and Reliant. A CFA® charter holder, Gim earned a BS degree in chemical engineering from the University of Texas and an MBA degree from Rice University.

Alvin Chen is the Global Technology Application Manager for refining catalysts at BASF. Before joining BASF, Dr. Chin was an FCC subject matter expert at a major petrochemical company, where he spent 14 yr supporting various aspects of the refining and petrochemical industries. He earned a BS degree in chemical engineering from Johns Hopkins University, along with an MS degree and a PhD in chemical engineering from Purdue University.
