Advances in compressor anti-surge valve design enhance reliability and performance

Bradford Haines has more than 25 yr of experience with Valtek and Flowserve Corp., contributing and leading as an application engineer, project manager and product manager. He holds numerous patents in the areas of control valve construction, anti-noise designs for control valves, and anti-cavitation designs for control valves. He holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University.

Michael P. Nelson is Principal R&D Engineer at the Flow Control Division of Flowserve Corp. He has more than 30 yr of diverse mechanical design and manufacturing experience, with more than 22 yr in the process control valve industry. Mr. Nelson holds an MS degree in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University, is a licensed Professional Engineer in Utah, and has been issued several patents for innovative mechanical designs.
