Optimizing crude oil fired heaters

Case study shows best ways to improve efficiency

Different kinds of fired heaters used in the oil and petrochemical industries and better methods for efficiency improvement are described. The presented case study is the cabin crude oil fired heater at Tehran refinery. It is a cabin type with two combustion chambers and (2 × 24) burners on the floor and on the side walls with conductive and radiant heat transfer and a stack.
