KBR completed engineering, procurement and construction for Innovene's Chocolate Bayou, Houston, Texas, facility and is now supplying startup and operations support services for a plant expansion. Using KBR's Selective Cracking Optimum REcovery (SCORE) ethylene process, the expansion project adds 650 million lb/year of ethylene capacity to the site.
The project includes designing and constructing what is claimed to be the world's largest operating flexible feedstock SCORE furnaces, which will provide Innovene high ethylene yields, and lower NOx emissions from the olefin plant by 80% to 90%.
Additionally, the attendant pipe racks were modularized, with detailed design completed
