Honeywell has a $60 million contract from Naftec Spa for an automation project at its refinery in Arzew, Algeria. The project's goal is to modernize instrumentation systems to improve production and optimize operational efficiency. The technology and equipment upgrades are claimed to give operators greater visibility into plant-wide operations and help them make business decisions quickly.
Under contract terms, Honeywell will install its Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS), field instrumentation systems, an advanced process control system, a training simulator and a centralized control room.
