Acoustic bubble spectrometer The Acoustic Bubble Spectrometer (ABS) exploits the fact that bubbles strongly affect acoustic wave propagation. It is useful in two-phase flow applications where knowledge of bubble size distribution and the volume fraction of gas in the liquid are important. The instrument is built around a PC Windows platform and includes high-speed cards for signal generation and data acquisition. A pair of hydrophones/ transducers transmits and receives a series of short monochromatic bursts of varying frequencies that determines the bubbly liquid's attenuation and phase speed. DYNAFLOW, INC.
