Specialty compounds business sold
BASF is selling its specialty polystyrene business, which includes flame retardant and antistatic polystyrene specialty products compounds to Spartech Polycom SAS, a Spartech Corp. subsidiary. The deal will take effect immediately and terms were not disclosed.
The polystyrene compounds production will be transferred to Spartech's production plant in Donchery, France. BASF will close its polystyrene compounds production in Ludwigshafen, Germany, as previously announced.
