Owners and operators are on a quest to leverage the automation investments made during design and engineering into the day-to-day operations and maintenance (O&M) activities.
Plant operations and maintenance information needs is the subject of a recent survey from a FIATECH task force. The survey is intended as a first step in understanding and documenting, from the owner-operator perspective, the requirements that capital projects should meet when turning over new or upgraded facilities.
Thus, the researchers asked experienced O&M leaders from 10 process industry companies to identify how information systems support their work flow and what areas need improvement. Key finding
