GE Energy is supplying a gas turbine and additional equipment to expand a power plant in the Karachaganak oil field near Aksai, Kazakhstan. GE will provide Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) with a gas turbine, generator, control system, fire protection system and a gas turbine acoustical enclosure. The new gas turbine will join three other GE gas turbines already operating at the site and will add more than 41 MW to the power plant output, which will be used to increase oil and gas production. The new gas turbine is equipped with a dry low NOx combustion system, and is scheduled for delivery by mid-July 2004. Commercial operation is slated for April 2005. Primary fuel will be
