New flexible cryogenic hose for LNG transfer BPP Technical Services Ltd., BHP Billiton Petroleum Pty. Ltd. and Dantec Ltd. have developed a new flexible cryogenic hose construction for ship-to-ship transfer of LNG in an exposed marine environment. The new hose was designed to meet the pressure and inner diameter requirements for the LNG transfer while using a small operational bend radius in dynamic service. Flexible hoses are classified into two main groups depending on the construction design: Reinforced metallic bellows construction Assembly of polymeric films or fabrics entrapped in close-wound helical wires ? the composite hose.
