Lurgi AG, an mg technologies ag subsidiary, has a contract to build a methanol plant in the Hainan province, China. The agreement is with the Chinese National Offshore Oil Co. (CNOOC) ? Kingboard Chemical Ltd, a joint venture between CNOOC, Kingboard Chemical Holdings and the China National Technical Import and Export Corp. Lurgi technology will be used to produce around 2,000 metric tpd of methanol from natural gas. The order is worth $ 90 million.
