The health of the light vehicle industry (automobiles, light-duty trucks, vans and sports utility vehicles) and the US economy are dynamically interrelated. The light vehicle industry continues to be an important customer for the chemical industry. Every light vehicle produced in the US contains nearly $2,000 of chemistry (chemical products and chemical processing), according to research from the American Chemistry Council (ACC).
