FERC grants LNG terminal approval
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has
granted preliminary approval to Hackberry LNG Terminal LLC's
certificate application. This is for its proposed Hackberry,
Louisiana, liquefied natural gas (LNG)/gasification project.
The approval is subject to FERC's environmental impact review
and includes what is claimed to be precedent-setting
authorization to charge market-based rates for LNG terminal
service.
The planned facility will be located at Dynegy
Inc.'s existing liquefied petroleum gas terminal and will be
able to receive and process up to 1.5 billion cfd. The
