away from simple resource extraction and export and are
focusing more on value-added exports. Nearly every country in
the area now has a refining industry, often integrated with
other industries such as natural gas processing, power
generation or petrochemicals, according to an analysis from
FACTS Inc.
The refining industries have expanded to meet
internal demand and also to add value to crude and compete in
overseas markets.
