Regional gasoline markets of North America and
Western Europe are the largest in the world, accounting for
over 60% of global demand. Western Europe consumed 125
million tons (MMton) and North America 430 MMton in 2001. Not
surprisingly then, "refinery fuel specifications in these
areas have a major impact on global gasoline quality," says
an analysis from Nexant Chem Systems.
