Monsanto Co.wholly owned subsidiary, and Linde AG, have a
contract to provide basic engineering services and proprietary
equipment supply to
Dolphin Energy Ltd.,Abu Dhabi, UAE. The agreement is for a
plant to destroy disulfide oils (DSO) coming from upstream
treatment at the new Ras Laffan natural gas processing plant in
Qatar.
The sulfur dioxide (SO
2) produced by the DSO unit will be recovered as 95%
concentrated SO
2gas which will be recycled to a Claus unit for sulfur
recovery. The plant treats DSO from two propane and two butane
extractive caustic soda wash units, corresponding to a 2,100
million scfd natural gas plant capacity.
