BASF started its newly modernized center for pressure sensitive adhesives at its site in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The center houses two pilot plants: a new coating plant for aqueous pressure sensitive adhesives - claimed to be the world's fastest with a maximum speed of 1,500 meters/minute - and a UV hot melt adhesive plant operating at a speed up to 700 meters/minute. The coating center's development and modernization cost, which was designed and built in cooperation with Pagendarm BTT GmbH, totaled ¤5 million.
