High-strength steel knife gate valve A unique 48-in. knife gate valve, part of the Big Knife family, is made of high-strength 2205 duplex steel for processing more corrosive and abrasive materials. This ferritic/austenitic stainless steel reportedly makes it 50% stronger than austenitic stainless steel valves and more corrosion-resistant in many applications. Its 6-in. (150-mm) face-to-face dimension and assembly without welding offer processing durability and longer life.
